Happy Caturday Furriends!!
As we say “see you later” to pumpkin season, I am so purry to bring you an intermew with my pumpkin-flavored furriend, Pumpkin!
Hazel: Hi Pumpkin! Thanks so much for being here! Since you’ve found your forever home, you have found quite a bit of furriends. What advice do you have for bright young kittens aspiring to build a web presence?
Pumpkin: Running a page can be very hard work. When I started mine, I expected 20/30 friends max!! The best advice I can give to any kitty building a web presence is be yourself! Run the page from your heart and network with other pages, it’s a brilliant supportive community that loves to help and nurture new friends! Don’t get involved in any politics or egos, ask pages if they want to share for a share, some will some won’t. Show your new friends you value and love them and never take them fir granted!! All my friends are now part of my family and I tell them lots how much I loves them!!
Hazel: I love the kitty community and my furriend Pumpkin! There are so many pawesome kitties, it’s unbelievable. Who has been your biggest inspurration and why?
Pumpkin: My biggest inspurration is an easy one!! That’s Munchie the stray cat! We found him in my early days and quickly realised he had a similar past but was 6 months ahead of me in the home thing! In the early days, I was still scared of mummy but I looked at how far Munchie had come and that made me realise anything was possible!! He is my soul brother who through those moments of doubt made me and mummy fight on and we cannot thank him and his mummy enough fir that!
Hazel: Aww, Munchie sounds like a cutie. What do you like to read or watch?
Pumpkin: Another easy one, in my first few weeks after being caught in a cat trap and being brought into the house, I lived in the hallway in isolation. Mummy terrified me and I would hide in one of the various boxes. After a few days, she started to sit on the stairs and read to me! She would read Lord of the Rings every day for an hour. I got used to her not coming near but being close and got used to her voice! I also fell in love with those brave hobbits who moved out of their comfort zone and ended up saving the world!! Each day as the story progressed, I drew strength from them and edged closer to mummy….
Hazel: Oh, I love that! As a Writer Kitty, I hope my furriends can draw strength from my works like the way you found strength in the works written by Tolkien and his cat (uncredited). How do you feel about the rise of feline power, and how do you see that power shaping the world in the future?
Pumpkin: I feel that the rise of feline power would be good in the right paws…
Hazel: Ooh, interesting. Some cats may be equipped to rule, but others not so much.
Pumpkin: Like any race, there are some not suited to the power! We would still require help as we don’t have opposable thumbs and I do not agree with slavery so we would have to build a good team. I also fear not much would be done as cat naps play a vital role in our day….I feel we just need to train and then guide humans so they feel they still run the show but are actually doing as we want!!
Hazel: Yay! I’m excited for that day. Kitties love to eat, and when or rather since we’re the boss, nomz will be and is an important part of our politics. Who would you love to have dinner with? What would you eat and where?
Pumpkin: I would love to have dinner with each and everyone of my aunties and uncles that follow my page so I could actually really meet them and let them know face to face how much I loves them!! Would have to be at my house coz the outside now scares me!! I would want meat, I’m not a fish sort of cat, maybe a sauteed serloin steak… only the best for my aunties and uncles!!
Hazel: What’s are some mistakes you’ve made and what did they teach you?
Pumpkin: I don’t believe in mistakes, even things we regret help shape us into the person we are, I’ve never hurted anyone so it’s all good (well apart from mummy that one scratch time)..
Hazel: That’s interesting. I still haven’t made a mistake, and I’m not sure what that word means but it seems to be pretty important in how stories unfold, so I like to ask that. Anyway, this was really fun, Pumpkin! If you could say only one thing to a potential new or existing follower, what would you like them to know?
Pumpkin: Welcome to my unconventional and large family!! I loves you, this is now your safe haven where I’m here for you, it’s not been an easy road and there is still a way to go, let’s get there together!!
Hazel: We loves you too! Thanks, Pumpkin!
And thank YOU reader for reading!
