Happy Caturday, Everypawdy!!
This week I am purry to present to you an intermew with two Facebook pages from the same family of kitties: Whiskers, Mouse, Sweetie, Etude, & Rondo. You can like their overall page here and Sweetie’s tips and hints page here.
Hazel: Hi Kitties! Thanks for being here! As always, we’ll start off by talking about tips! What advice do you have for bright young kittens aspiring to build a web presence?
Kitties: Well, let’s see…
Sweetie: Just get out there and do it. Whatever you think you want to do…as long as it’s going to inform, help, encourage or entertain someone… then it’s the right thing to do. That’s what I do on my page.
Whiskers is about to pass the buck… it interferes with her beauty sleep… so she leaves most of it for the others do with occasional supervision.
Mouse: Just be cute, like me. That’s all… lots of cute photos…. get those Grammies and Mummys and other pickature takers to snap, snap snap your photos then post them.
Rondo: Mischief and singing and Mayhem and singing and lotsa Mischief…. that’s what you need to include.
Etude: Well, let me see…. The biggest thing bright, young kittens need to do is be adorable, yes, adorable… like me. And don’t be afraid to experiment. Check around the web, see what others are posting, get some ideas then go and do your own thing.
We all say, GO for it! It’s the cats’ pyjamas! Yes, it is.
Hazel: Wow, lots of great tips! Who has been your biggest inspiration and why?
Kitties: Well, we have many who have inspired us not just one and it’s difficult to limit it to one because each is unique. But to name just a few there are….
- Herman, Team Ginger and Harvey and their mummy Aunty Joanna. Aunty J is Grammy’s and our go to research person for all things kitty and Monty is Sweetie’s dreamboat. *sigh* (oh no! So much for her input…won’t get her off Cloud 9 for a while!
- Nerissa and his Peeps#1 for the encouragement to blog.
- Pumpkin and his mummy in the UK for all the mischiefy dream trips.
- Aunty Geraldine in the UK who’s a confidence booster.
- Z-man – Zamboni and Boo and Herz in Northern Ontario – a wonderful friendship and story of love and commitment.
- Da Fluffarooniez in Netherlands and their weekly visits and songs that uplift us. We look forward to them so much.
- Edward Scissorpaws and his sister Emma (our US neighbours) and their mummy – Edward of the BIG paws for his Great Under-standings *giggle* and his mummy’s massive undertakings.
- AND by far the most mischievous inspirations are the Clan of Seven (Netherlands). We love following their antics. Their mummy is da bestest photographer.
- Oh, and so many others…Jet Bird and Inky and Mouse, Blacky, Gizzmo, Taz, Bluey, Ocean and Sassy Skye & Cheeky Charlie – some of these have physical challenges, others have mummies or daddies with challenges….AND everyone just gets on with life and finds their unique ways to give back.
The list is long and we hope nobody feels left out because they weren’t individually mentioned but each and everyone has inspired us in one way or another.
Hazel: What do you like to read or watch?
Kitties: Well, by far our favourite television program is the Aquarium channel. Grammy turns it on, we watch all the exotic fish swimming around the tank and listen to the air bubbles in the water… It’s great fun especially when Grammy sets the chairs in front so we can be comfortable while watching.
Hazel: The Aquarium channel makes me hungry!
Kitties: Oh, and in the winter we love the Fireplace Channel… crackling fires and the inference of warmth it brings. We also like Squirrel TV and Bird TV – two videos that are wearing out and need to be replaced. Hmmmmm… KITTEN’S WHISKERS! Did you hear that Grammy? Grammy….?
We’re not really into books, except to sleep on…
Hazel: Books are fun to sleep on.
Kitties: Though Grammy loves to read and knit and she’d sit on the floor and read to us for hours and flick bits of yarn to encourage play when we were newly rescued and frightened… until we were not afraid of her voice.
What we really like best is classical and choral music turned on low…It’s comforting when Grammy’s at work or running errands.
Hazel: How do you feel about the rise of feline power, and how do you see that power shaping the world in the future?
Kitties: What are you talking about – rise of feline power! Pffft! We’ve been at the top of the heap for eons… Those barkers and bi-peds just don’t realize it and keep messing things up. Who herds the sheep, guards the home? Not us! Who goes out to work to pay for our comforts? Not us! Who supplies and prepares food, toys, pillows, blankies? Not us? Who scoops the litter, tosses the toys? Not us! What do we do? Sleep! Eat! Play! Purr! Now that’s the way the world should be! If only!
Hazel: Who would you love to have dinner with? What would you eat and where?
Kitties: We are working on a secret plan to go to Nova Scotia for a big crab and lobster fest followed by Mice Cream with Nissy and his large feline family. Oh yes! Crab and Lobster… We hear that Peggy’s Cove and Mahone Bay have some great dining spots. Then again, there’s great Mice Cream in the Annapolis Valley – That’s where Grammy got her first taste of Ginger Mice Cream. Yummilicious! It may take a while before we get there and it’s gotta be an extended visit.. takes a lot of pocket money!
Grammy, we need a raise! Grammy?????????? (Ooops! Oh, no! Guess it’s not a secret anymore!)
Hazel: What are some mistakes you’ve made and what did they teach you?
Kitties: Mistakes? You’re talking to cats here, don’t ya know! Cats don’t make mistakes.
Hazel: It’s a human word, I know, but I am always purrious to see how kitties respond to it.
Kitties: Everything we’ve done, even if it looked like a mistake was intentional. Absolutely intentional! *looks around and innocently licks paws* That’s our story and we’re sticking to it.
Hazel: Haha word! Thanks for the intermew kitties! To conclude: if you could say only one thing to a potential new or existing follower, what would you like them to know?
Kitties: Spread the love and help others, yes, let’s help to make the world a better place and add a little Mischief & Mayhem in there to spice up your life.
And may we add a note to all the peeps out there too?
Hazel: Of course!
Kitties: So, Peeps… Adopt, don’t shop!
Hazel: Lots of kitties need homes, thanks for being that home to so many!
And thanks again reader for reading! Hope you enjoyed it!
Purr and a love nip,
