Happy Caturday, Furriends!
Today we have an intermew with Lou the Shop Cat!
It’s also my Auntie’s birthday! Happy Birthday Rissa!
Hazel: Hi Lou! Thanks for being here! What advice do you have for bright young kittens aspiring to build a web presence?
Lou: Relax and have fun with it. Many cats who begin to build a web presence get discouraged or give up because they see all these blogs with a huge following, and completely forget that gathering a large, devoted following doesn’t come overnight. Many bloggers (cat or otherwise) completely forget that a big following takes awhile–sometimes years—to build. It may be that your social media following builds before your blog (which is what happened with us).
Hazel: Me too!
Lou: Just keep building your web presence with paws-itive messages and lots of good clear pictures, and the blog followers will come.
Hazel: Who has been your biggest inspiration, and why?
Lou: It hasn’t been any one kitty or person. Among those who have inspired and mentored me, though, have been Marjorie Dawson of Dash Kitten, and Herman Kozlowski’s Mom, Kim. Maybe someday I will become a celebricat, like Waffles the cat.
Hazel: What are your favorite books, magazines, plays and TV shows?
Lou: Well, my favorite books are all magazines. I am quite partial to Real Simple and Oprah, because that means I can settle in for a long and delightfully crinkly snuggle session with my Human Mom while she reads. As far as plays go, my favorite is CATS because that TS Eliot guy really ‘gets’ us felines. Last but not least, my favorite TV shows are WWE wrestling or The Walking Dead, because that is when I settle into my Human Dads’ lap.
Hazel: Haha I love how you totally shift gears for TV. Simple Oprah and then zombie wrestling, hmm…<^-^> How do you feel about the rise of feline power, and how do you see that power shaping the world in the future?
Lou: I love that we felines are becoming more visible and powerful in the world. I think that this will result in an explosion of more feline luxury products to solve all sorts of first world kitty problems and satisfy every kitty desire. I also predict more veterinary advances so that we might live comfortable lives with our Humans, for far longer than ever before.
Hazel: Speaking of luxury dinners with celebricats and -ties, who would you love to have dinner with? What would you eat, and where?
Lou: Hrm..well..I would like to meet Kim and Herman, and Marjorie and Harvey, and..and..all of my other kitty blogger friends I have met over time. If I had my way, we would all get together and eat steak at Ruths’ Chris steakhouse. Someday!
Hazel: What are some mistakes you’ve made and what did they teach you?
Lou: 1. I should have gotten into blogging much, much sooner. This is fun! I have learned I should not have ignored my instincts. 2. I should pose more often so my Humans can take more pictures to post on blog posts.
Hazel: I am glad you are here, Lou! You are a very cute kitty and I enjoy hearing from you! To conclude the intermew, as always, if you could only say one thing to a potential new or or existing follower, what would you like them to know?
Lou: I’d like them to know just how much I enjoy chatting with them, and how much I hope I have made their days better.
Hazel: You made my day better, thanks Lou!
Lou: Thank you again for intermewing me!
Lou, the Shop Cat
And thank YOU readers for reading!
A cordial purr,
