Ready for Day 4?
Ready for Day 3?
Ready for Day 2?
Happy Almost Caturday, Furriends!
Today we have a very special intermew from Edward David Alexander! You may know him as Scratchz Padz, he makes all those beautiful RIP images we see when one of our kitty friends crosses the Rainbow Bridge, including this recent homage to the late Sir Houdini.
You can check out his work on his many pages here, and be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday! He’s celebrating his 54th!

Hazel: You’re the artist behind all those beautiful RIP signs we see on Facebook! How did you get started?
EDA: I got my start in pro art as a young man, so before I was even 18, back in the mid 1970’s as a pro tattooist. How I started on the Facebook RIPs…well I was friends with the old RIP maker before he passed, and the first online RIP I did ever make and post was for brother Paul N when he passed. I didn’t know that at the time, brother Paul was teaching me to take his place.
Hazel: Do you have kitties of your own? What are their names, and what are they like?
EDA: Yes, I have currently 3 gal kitties & they do have their own Facebook pages: Sweety & Cat Friends of CCC and Ginny & MoMo (hyperlinked above).
Hazel: What have you learned from helping so many people heal from their loss?
EDA: Oh yeah, ask the tough stuff! Well, to be totally honest, I am not sure what I have learned but this: that few words are best, to have a firm hand and strong heart, and to use my empathic powers.
Hazel: You were told in 2011 you only had 2-15 months left, how has that changed your perspective, and what kept you going?
EDA: You have to do what you love and love what you do.
Hazel: What would you say to humans who are still recovering from a pet loss?
EDA: There are always the basic same stages to this: first is shock, then sadness, then emptiness…there is no time limit to these as each person is different and heals differently.
Hazel: Who’s waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge?
EDA: I am sure every cat I have ever had is there waiting. After 54 of me loving and having cats, the list is to long to put here, but all cats go to the Rainbow Bridge or heaven to wait for us.
Hazel: What would you like future readers to know about you and your work?
EDA: It has been a 50+ year dream of mine to share and give to world my art work. It is the best and last gift I have to give to the world. Thank you, Hazel Fluffypants, for choosing this human to interview, and I hope I did well answering! 🙂
Thanks Scratchz! And Happy Birthday!!
A cordial purr,
Day 20 of my August Intermew Blitz! Meet Chester!
Always remember to thank your fans and meow all the time for no reason. People like that. Also no matter what, always try and stare at them for a long time.
My biggest inspiration is Abby the Tabby. She does everything for me. I enjoy watching her move and jump over me to get to where she wants to go. She inspires me to get up and walk into other rooms.
I enjoy watching anything on TV that has birds, food or other cats. I also watch whatever the little humans are watching on TV.
I’m too lazy to worry about feline power. All the power to them, but I will be on the floor with my legs in the air watching it on TV.
I would love to have dinner with my fans. I would eat a turkey. I might even share.
My first mistake getting into that crate, the second mistake was not attacking the airline worker who dropped my crate. I learned that eating bugs and drinking out of puddles can keep you alive on an airfield till someone realizes you’re there.
Thank you for believing I was still alive and supporting my owner as she tried to find me. =^..^=
Day 19 of my August Intermew Blitz! Meet Artemis Moonshadow!
My advice would be to post lots of awesome and cute photos and videos to grab people’s attention.
My biggest inspiration is all the animals who need homes. I feel that if we could only make pages for all the animals, they would find families
I love any books by Anne Rice. TV? I like Grey’s Anatomy, The Walking Dead, and Buffy. Plays? I love Rent and Mamma Mia!
I feel that one day cats will be the main pet of choice. And maybe even overtake the humans
I’d love to have dinner with Sarah Michelle Gellar. We would eat steak at a fancy steak restaurant
Not to break things. Or eat off people’s plates. Taught me to have manners.
Have fun and love all animals.
Day 18 of my August Intermew Blitz! Meet Jake!
Be yourself. And find a human with more time on their hands to type updates (I’m hissing at you, Aunt M!)
My (human) Mommy because she doesn’t give up!
The Cat Who… mystery series by Lillian Jackson Braun. Those books make me purrrrr. I like it when my furless baby sister watches Bubble Guppies. They look tasty!
I feel honored and humbled to be a feline! I think the world will be a much nicer place when cats take over everything… Catnip for everyone!!
I’d love to invite a little black stray kitty named CJ for dinner. She shows up at Aunt M’s mom’s house to eat. I’d eat Fancy Feast there with her under the porch swing!
Biggest mistake I made was jumping on the mantle and knocking off one of Aunt M’s breakable thingies. I learned not to jump up there anymore!
I would say: “I love you!”
Day 17 of my August Intermew Blitz! Meet The Flamepoint Furball!
Never worry about the number of likes you have. Quality beats quantity every time.
I am very inspired by those cat pages which help other cats that do not have a happy, protected life like I have, like Flipper and Prince Pan Pan.
I read many books with my humum Patricia. I cuddle up in her right arm, and she sometimes has trouble turning the pages. We like mystery, adventure and romance books and shows. We also like scary shows like Grimm.
If everyone was as cuddly as a cat and purred, the world would be a happier place. I have a little human niece who wants to be a cat. The world should learn from her.
I would love to have dinner with my Facebook mate Kaspurr Lynch, but he lives far away in USA. We talk a lot on fb, and I would love to meet him in person – and his brother Blaze who looks like me. I am very partial to chicken, and I guess we would have to meet on an island somewhere in the Pacific so we both didn’t have to travel too far.
Oh. I am a bit ashamed to say that I have not used my litter box on occasion and instead have messed up the beds so I’ve created a lot of washing for my humum. Lesson learned? If she is always washing then she can’t spend time with me.
I am a very proud Australian cat and I often include snippets of Aussie culture and photos of Aussie animals on my page, so it’s not all about me- though my humum thinks I am beautiful.
Day 15 of my August Intermew Blitz! Meet Oscar!
Take lots of nice pictures for your audience to enjoy and try to be cheerful and uplifting.
My brother Ben, he was so sweet natured and laid back, and I aim to be like him.
I have come to enjoy watching Downton Abbey because my Mum loves it and I watch it with her.
I think humans could learn a great deal from us cats with regard to dignity and common sense. We take time to consider the situation and only act when we have decided it’s appropriate. We never act hastily.
I would love to have dinner with my namesake, Oscar Wilde, he was a talented and clever man who used humorous words to express how he felt about the world. We would eat chicken in a restaurant in Monmartre in Paris.
Aaah one big mistake I have made is going outdoors when it’s wet because then one gets muddy paws and they are not really welcome on my Mum’s lace tablecloth!
I think you would enjoy following me, because I can be witty and cheerful and it might lift your mood on a dreary day.
Day 14 of my August Intermew Blitz! Meet Two Face!
Make sure to network with other cats. I became furriends with GG Kitty Girl when she was just starting. As she became more popular, she helped me get more followers.
Venus the Chimera Cat. She’s done a great job representing us two-faced cats at the highest level of cat fame.
Phantom of the Opera, The Dark Knight, anything with cardboard boxes
I don’t think it’s happening fast enough since I still have a dog for a roommate. Hopefully it leads to the first Cat President before the 2100s.
I want to eat chicken wings with Mylo the Cat somewhere or eat something half-and-half with Venus.
Mistakes? Uh, I’m sure I’ve made some of those, but I usually blame them on my other face and forget about it.
(My owner said something about me picking fights with dogs and jumping on the wrong other cats’s heads.)
New: Like me on Facebook please!
Existing: Mrow meh myow reh meh mrow meh, thanks for the support.
Thanks, Two Face!
